From Laurel Peterson (Rippey) Grand Niece to Dorothy

I remember Dorothy because she was very close to my grandmother, Grace Soutar. Dorothy lived in New York City most of her adult life. She often spent weekends visiting Grace in Montclair.

I remember Dorothy as always being very kind and jovial, always finding something to laugh about. I liked her very much.

I have a beautiful painting hanging in my home which Dorothy painted. It is an acrylic ocean scene. Visitors have admired it asking, "Who is the artist Dorothy?" - as she did not sign her full name.

I will always remember your smiling face, Aunt Dorothy. Goodbye for now.

From Cheryl Marshall (Rippey) - Grand Neice to Dorothy

My early memories are of Dorothy coming over to Nannas and always bringing a box of Russell Stover chocolates. She always seemed to prefer hanging out with us "kids". Many times we would take walks, look at the flowers and just plain talk. I always felt she was someone who would listen to me and stick up for me. I loved to hear her laugh and she laughed a lot. I did not know her well and wish I knew her better.

Farewell Dorothy

Dorothy Gusweller was my Great-Aunt.
She passed away today, November 26, 2006 at the age of 94.

I did not know her very well, but do remember her laugh and smiling face well.

As it has been decided that there will not be a funeral, I wanted to create a way to share rememberances of her and hopefully learn more about her through this blog.

If you have a memory or picture to share about Dorothy, please e-mail me at laurelptrsn@hotmail.com. I will post it to the blog. Thank you for your contributions.
